What Really makes dog food Grain Free?

There's a lot of discussion around grain-free diets and their benefits, but not all "grain-free" labels are straightforward.

Today, I want to clarify what truly makes a grain-free dog food and how some brands might not fully meet this standard—unlike our 100% grain-free products at The Natural Dog Hub.

Grain-free dog food should contain no wheat, corn, rice, barley, oats, or other cereal grains.

Watch Out for Misleading Labels

Some brands use terms that might imply their product is grain-free, such as "natural" or "holistic," but these terms are not synonymous with grain-free. It's important to read the ingredient list carefully. Here’s what you might find on labels that could be misleading:

  • Cereal By-products- These are often grain-based and not suitable for a grain-free diet.
  • While gluten-free means no wheat, barley, or rye, it doesn't rule out other grains like corn or rice.

Our Commitment to True Grain-Free Nutrition

  • 100% Grain-Free- Our products contain absolutely no grains. Instead, we use high-quality, alternative carbohydrate sources to ensure your dog gets all the nutrients they need without the grains.
  • We believe in honesty. Our labels clearly state every ingredient, so you know exactly what you're feeding your pet.
